Report a problem from the app

In the app, open Settings, tap “Report a problem”, describe what happened and send it. The report carries your app version and, if you choose to attach it, a diagnostic log — never your photos. You get an R-XXXXX number: keep it, and quote it if you write to us.

Frequently asked questions

What are credits?

One credit pays for one item in an action that handles many at once — Smart Cleanup, deleting a group or a multi-selection, compressing a video or a screenshot, converting a Live Photo to a still. Credits never expire, and the balance is held on our server, so it survives a reinstall. Credits are not money: they cannot be exchanged for cash and they have no value outside the app.

What is free?

Swipe cleanup, deleting a single item from the full-screen viewer, scanning and viewing your library, and everything to do with contacts — merging, deleting, backing up — are free and unlimited. So are Skip List and Undo. Only bulk, automatic actions cost credits. Every new account also gets a one-time welcome grant of 100 credits.

What is the 24-hour Pass, and can I stack them?

The Pass is a one-off purchase that makes every paid action free for 24 hours. It is not a subscription: it does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. Buying another Pass while one is still running adds 24 more hours instead of replacing the time left, so passes stack.

What is Lifetime, and does Family Sharing work?

Lifetime is a one-off purchase that makes every paid action free for the account, permanently. It is a non-consumable, so it is available to Family Sharing, and it can be restored to a new account with the same Apple ID.

I have a new phone — how do I get my purchases back?

Install TimCleaner and use “Restore Purchases”: the app re-attaches your previous anonymous account through iCloud Keychain and verifies the purchases with Apple. If nothing comes back, check that the new phone is signed in with the same Apple ID and write to us with the Apple transaction ID (App Store → your account → Purchase History).

How do I ask for a refund?

Every purchase is between you and Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple and not by us: go to reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple asks us what happened to the purchase, we may send it consumption information taken from our own ledger so that it can decide.

Why do I see ads, and how do I remove them?

The free tier is supported by non-personalized Google AdMob ads: a banner plus interstitials. Buying any credit pack turns interstitials off permanently; the banner stays. A Pass or Lifetime removes ads entirely, for as long as it lasts. There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt and no IDFA.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, open Settings and tap “Delete my data”. That anonymises the account: it is detached from your device and from the identifiers that could point back to it, and it can never be recovered. Accounting ledger rows remain — a ledger that could be rewritten would not be a ledger — but they carry no link to you.

Does TimCleaner upload my photos?

No. Your photos, videos, contacts and their metadata never leave the iPhone. Every scan, similarity match and comparison runs on the device. The only things that reach our server are an anonymous account ID, a device ID, App Attest and DeviceCheck data, Apple purchase records, the credit ledger, bucketed usage events and the support reports you choose to send.

What are invite codes?

Every account has a six-character invite code on the Referral screen. The person you invite enters it within 7 days of installing; once they have cleaned 50 items you get 100 credits, and they get 100 on top of their welcome grant. You can be rewarded for up to 20 referrals.
